ART & DESIGN
Emmett Poling-Hubbard is graduating with an Associates of Fine Arts and will be transferring to the Maryland Institute College of Art to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. During their time at CCBC, Emmett demonstrated exceptional leadership, involvement, and dedication through participation in numerous clubs and extracurricular activities, including serving as President of the Fashion Club, as well as active involvement in the Gamers Guild, the STARs Conference, and the Honors College. Through consistent hard work, artistic achievement, and academic commitment, Emmett earned more than $34,000 in scholarships and awards to attend MICA, including the highly prestigious Distinguished Artist Award. Emmett’s accomplishments reflect both outstanding talent and a strong commitment to personal and professional growth, and we are proud to celebrate this exciting next step in their artistic journey.
Sumaiya-Alee Islam Eliwo Goumaa has earned an Associate Degree in Studio Fine Arts and will graduate Summa Cum Laude, reflecting both outstanding academic achievement and dedication to their artistic practice. They are currently applying to Bachelor of Fine Arts programs across the United States, with plans to continue developing a multidisciplinary approach to Fine Arts. Throughout their time at CCBC, Sumaiya-Alee has distinguished themselves through a diverse and dynamic creative practice that includes henna artistry, studio fine arts, digital media, and sculptural work. Their artwork was recently featured in the CCBC Galleries exhibition, “Becoming 2026,” highlighting their continued artistic growth. In addition to their creative accomplishments, Sumaiya-Alee has been actively involved in campus life as a member of the Essex CCBC Fashion Club and the student organization Classi. They have excelled in honors-level coursework and have become an exemplary student within the Art & Design Department through their professionalism, creativity, kindness and commitment to excellence.
COMMUNICATION & MEDIA STUDIES
Markettia Adams (Communication and Media Studies AOC) plans to attend UMGC (University of Maryland Global Campus) where she will be majoring in Communication. Markettia also plans to work with the State of Maryland as a call center associate.
Alana N. Johnson (Communication and Media Studies AOC) After graduating CCBC, Alana plans to continue her education at the University of Maryland Global Campus to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. She is looking forward to exploring future career opportunities and hopes to eventually earn her master’s degree as well.
DANCE
Kenea Dorsey is graduating with an Associate of Fine Arts: Dance degree this Spring from CCBC. She previously trained at Jump Move Dance from 2018 to 2020, where she began developing her foundation and passion for movement. This past semester, Kenea has been enjoying the opportunity to make new friends while continuing to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer. Her experience in the Dance Program and with the CCBC Dance Company has allowed her to grow both artistically and personally. Lauren Arroyo is graduating with her A.A. Degree in Dance. Dance has been a central part of her life since childhood, long before she received formal training, serving as one of her most natural forms of expression. Through the program, she gained technique, structure, language, and a strong sense of artistic community. With a background in education and psychology, Lauren became especially interested in how movement supports healing, emotional awareness, and connection to the body. Her studies helped her deepen her understanding of dance as more than performance, but as a way of exploring identity, culture, and human connection. Lauren plans to continue traveling internationally to study traditional and social dances and learn more about the relationship between movement, culture, history, and Indigenous healing practices. She hopes to continue exploring dance as both a personal practice and a meaningful way to connect with others across cultures.

Adriana Bowen plans to transfer to University North Carolina School of the Arts – Entry Fall ‘26.

Stephen Johnson plans to transfer to Towson University to study Electronic Media & Film – Entry Fall ‘26. He recently completed the prestigious Chesapeake Bay Chamber of Commerce Internship this past spring.
Olivia Lampart plans to transfer to Towson University Honors College to study Electronic Media & Film – Entry Fall ‘26. Her film, Out of Focus, premiered at the OAF-CCBC Film Festival this spring.
Phoenix Mack plans to transfer to MICA to study Film & Media – Entry Fall ‘26. She recently starred in the film, Out Of Focus, which premiered at the OAF-CCBC Film Festival this spring.
Elise Meyers transfers to Ryder University (NJ) to study Film & Television – Entry Fall ‘26. Her film, Sparks, premiered at the OAF-CCBC Film Festival this spring.
Alayah Morris plans to transfer to Towson University to study Electronic Media & Film – Entry Fall ‘26. Her film, Dead End, premiered at the OAF-CCBC Film Festival this spring.

INTERIOR DESIGN
Natalisia Brissett is an emerging interior designer passionate about using creativity to positively impact people’s lives. During her time at CCBC, she immersed herself in both academic and student life, serving on the Student Programming Board, participating in the Honors College, and becoming a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Her success was shaped by the guidance and support of dedicated mentors and faculty who encouraged her growth academically, personally, and professionally. CCBC provided a strong foundation for her future, and she carries deep gratitude for the community that helped her thrive. As she moves forward, Natalisia plans to gain hands-on experience in the interior design field, continue refining her craft, and eventually pursue advanced education to expand her expertise and the positive impact she can make on others.
Leah Goodman I am transferring to Morgan State University for interior design. I have participated in many clubs and extra curriculars at CCBC such as the Interior Design Club, the Honors College, Phi Theta Kappa, Student Alumni Council, and served in Student Engagement as a student Ambassador. I also became a semi-finalist for both the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and the Presidents Distinguished Graduate Scholarship. After college, I’m excited to continue my journey in interior design and achieve my goal of helping seniors age in place with grace while using sustainable methods of design.
Mickayla Jenkins After earning my Associate Degree in Interior Design, I plan to begin my professional journey in the design industry while taking some time away from school. I hope to use the skills and knowledge gained throughout the program to secure a position that allows me to continue growing creatively and professionally. In the future, I plan to complete additional coursework needed to qualify for the NCIDQ exam and continue to advance my education and career interior design. I am especially interested in residential and multi-family housing design, with a passion for creating functional, welcoming, and visually impactful spaces that improve everyday living.
Scott Jones is graduating with his Associates degree in Interior Design. He has enjoyed serving as President of the Interior Design Club this year. He will continue his education in the fall at Morgan State University to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. Scott hopes to get a job at a Commercial Design firm upon graduation.
INTERPRETER PREPARATION
Aaron Tworek (Interpreter Preparation A.A.S., Certificate) Aaron relocated from the Bay Area to the East Coast in 2023 and enrolled in the CCBC ITP Program. He has a background in theatre and human services, he has experience in acting, lighting design, stage crew, job coaching, and supporting Deaf+ and HOH individuals. He is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and CCBC’s Dean’s List. He would like to extend a special thank you to his professors, as well to his best friend Nick for their support, guidance, and encouragement throughout his journey. He recently began contract work with DORS of Maryland and is preparing for the CASLI written exam as he continues working toward NIC certification. Aaron hopes to continue growing through community, contract, and theatrical work.
My name is Azemiah Kincheloe and I have been attending CCBC since the Fall of 2021; I am graduating in the Spring of 2026 with an AA in American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. During my journey at CCBC, I have flourished in my studies and grown immense confidence in ASL and my ability to communicate with Deaf people. I have found a “family” inside the ASL/INTR Immersion Club, my ASL classes, my job at Christ Deaf Church (Deaf Shalom Zone), and all the community events I have attended throughout the years. My achievements include Treasurer of the ASL/INTR Immersion Club (Fall 2024-Spring 2026) where I received two Certificates of Recognition. I have worked hard these last 5 years and am excited to see what the future holds for me!
My name is Chantel McDaniel. I started the ASL Program by accident, only to end up loving the learning process of the culture, people, history, and language, so I can eventually become an educated and proactive Ally.I transferred to McDaniel College- BA in Deaf Studies. I just finished my 1st semester there.My future goal is to continue through McDaniel College’s MA in Deaf Education, so I can become a teacher.
Contessa Gibson (B.A. Management Science, A.A. ASL & Deaf Culture, A.A.S. Interpreter Preparation & Interpreter Preparation Certificate) is incredibly blessed and grateful to have completed CCBC’s ASL & Deaf Culture Program in December 2023 and now CCBC’s Interpreter Training Program (ITP) in May 2026 as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society having a 4.0 GPA for the entirety of both programs. She is the admin assist for Christ Deaf UMC and for CCBC ASL & INTR Dept. Both opportunities have blessed her with amazing connections to the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and interpreting communities. She is also blessed to be the first CCBC INTR intern at Sign Language USA (SLUSA) for practicum. She truly loved her internship at SLUSA and has created a lifelong connection with her primary SLUSA mentor, Jaime Holloway. She is looking forward to obtaining her National Interpreter Certification (NIC) and Maryland State Interpreting License as well as giving back to every community and organization that supported her during her ASL and interpreting journey.
Corinne Emanuel – (Interpreter Preparation A.A.S.) It has been a wonderful ASL/Interpreting journey at CCBC. I am grateful to my instructors: Stephan Kennedy for strengthening my ASL grammar; Su Kyong Isaacson for encouraging me to pursue performance interpreting, which led to the National Theatre Saturday morning children’s internship; and Dave Coyne for emphasizing purposeful practice with the reminder there are at least five ways to interpret the same sentence! I am currently preparing to take the CASLI written exam and will continue to strengthen my interpreting skills through supporting the Deaf/DeafBlind communities, attending workshops and gleaning all I can from my mentors! My goal is to focus on religious, community, and DeafBlind interpreting, and eventually explore other settings. Thank you to the amazing staff, coaches, fellow students, and mentors for their guidance and continual encouragement on my path to becoming an interpreter!
Danielle Addis I can’t believe my time at CCBC is almost finished. Throughout my experience, I have learned so much about myself and how to become a stronger interpreter, thanks to the support of my professors and peers. I had the opportunity to interpret for Deaf students, complete an internship with Purple VRS, and explore many areas of the field. I am especially proud to have passed the CASLI Knowledge and Ethics Exam. Moving forward, I plan to continue working in VRS and educational interpreting while pursuing a master’s degree in sign language interpreting.
Felix Chevere (Interpreter Preparation A.A.S./Interpreter Preparation Certificate A.A.S.). I currently serve as a team leader and staff interpreter at Extreme Family Outreach, a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to humanitarian work. My professional goal is to enhance my proficiency in Spanish and American Sign Language and to become a trilingual interpreter. I remain actively involved in both the Spanish-speaking and Deaf communities, continually seeking opportunities for growth through workshops and training sessions. With a deep commitment to professional development and community service, I am enthusiastic about the future and dedicated to contributing meaningfully to the communities I serve. These experiences not only refine my interpreting skills but also allow me to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as I work towards obtaining RID certification.
Megan Kules (American Sign Language and Deaf Culture, A.A.) After completing CCBC’s ASL and Deaf culture degree, I continued in CCBC’s Interpreter Preparation program. Fall 2026 will be my last semester in the interpreting program. I spent many hours volunteering at the Maryland School for the Deaf and I’m looking forward to an interpreting career in education.
Wendy Balko is a recent graduate of the Interpreter Preparation program at CCBC. She graduated with a Deaf Studies degree from Towson University in 2013 and after many years not working in the field, decided to enroll in CCBC’s Interpreter Preparation program, finally achieving her original goal of becoming an American Sign Language interpreter. She is also a proud Registered Veterinary Technician currently working at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. Wendy plans to continue to interpret in community settings with the goal of working in the medical field and becoming a nationally certified interpreter. She also looks forward to continuing to be an ally for the Deaf community and an accessibility advocate.
MUSIC
Logan Hemling is a trumpet student graduating with an AA in music. He is attending Millersville University in the fall as a music education major, and he is excited to participate in the school’s marching band.
Gen Leake will graduate with an AFA in Music this summer! She’s been involved in the Music Program for several years, making connections, growing as a singer and performer, and working towards her goal of becoming a music teacher. She received the 2025-2026 CCBC Award for Outstanding Service to the Music Program. She’s been the 2025-2026 President of the CCBC chapter of SNATS, was the Vice President in 2024-2025, and has been a section leader in Chamber Singers for several semesters. Gen won several awards during her time at CCBC including 1st place in the 2023 Maryland/DC NATS Auditions in the CL13 category, 2nd place in the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Region NATS Auditions in CL13, 1st place in the 2024 MACMA Transfer Fair Mock Auditions, 3rd place in the 2024 Maryland/DC NATS Auditions in CL13, 2nd place in the 2025 Maryland/DC NATS Auditions in CL13, and 2nd place in the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Region NATS Auditions in CL13. Gen plans to transfer to Towson University to pursue a degree in Music Education.

THEATRE
Gillian Wren Elfring (AFA Theatre) graduated from CCBC in December. He was involved in multiple Theatre productions including as dramaturg for The Revolutionists and the ensemble of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. He also ran sound for Bright New Boise and sound/projections for The Revolutionists. Wren is also an incredible young director.
Asia Mason (AFA Theatre) graduated in December and will be transferring to UMBC. At CCBC, she acted three roles in the Short Comedy Festival and then played Anna in A Bright New Boise. Asia then switched to technical theatre work, serving on crew for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time before being stage manager for Medea. Asia received a 2025 Student Life Award for her work in Technical Theatre.
Myles Rigsby (AA Theatre/Performance – Acting) graduated from CCBC in December. During his time at the Catonsville campus, Myles was regularly involved in productions. He starred in The One Act Play That Goes Wrong and Milan 1880 and worked on crew for John Proctor is the Villain and Anon(ymous). He rounded out his time as assistant stage manager on Miss Julie.
Victor Scigala (AFA Theatre) has been heavily involved in Theatre on the Essex campus for years. After participating in Children’s Playhouse of Maryland for years, Victor became a stellar stage manager working on Medea (ASM), The Revolutionists, and Eurydice. This work earned him a 2025 Student Life Award. He was also on crew for A Bright New Boise and in the ensemble of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. While he graduates this spring, he will return to CCBC this fall to star in Into the Woods.
Addi Stashik (AFA Theatre) graduated this past December and is currently a student at Towson University. They worked on plays every semester they were at CCBC, including The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong (Max/Ceci), the Short Comedy Festival (multiple roles), Anon(ymous) (Mrs. Laius/Zyclo’s Bird), Medea (run crew), and The Revolutionists (Charlotte Corday). Addi was the 2025 recipient of the John Bruce Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
Jory Williams (AA Theatre/Performance – Acting) has been involved in CCBC Theatre productions at both Essex and Catonsville. He has acted in Medea (Eldest Child), Anon(ymous) (Strygal, Senator Laius), and Eurydice (Big Stone), and been on crew for Milan 1880 and The Revolutionists. He hopes to transfer to Towson University.
Breanna Wilson (AA Theatre/Technical Design & Production) is a 2026 Student Life Award winner for Technical Theatre. She was on the stage management teams for Eurydice and The Revolutionists, had worked crew for other productions like Milan 1880 and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. She is transferring to Towson University.
