PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Rehearsals will generally be held 3-4 times per week. Conflicts will be taken into consideration when scheduling specific days/times for rehearsals. Although CCBC students are given preference, these auditions are OPEN to all community members, as well. We have many parts to cast! We love diverse casts. We encourage performers of all races and ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities, abilities, and ages, to attend auditions.
We ask that actors bring a list of ALL conflicts they have from now until the closing of the shows to their auditions.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Monologues/Readings – Actors will NOT need to prepare monologues. Please review audition sides at the bottom of this page. Actors will be asked to read sides or sing.
If you can’t make either audition day, please email jlewis2@ccbcmd.edu to send a video of a one minute monologue and/or song.

Summary
Rosalind Franklin, one of the great female scientists of the twentieth century, strove to map the contours of the DNA molecule. In this moving portrait, Rosalind and a chorus of physicists relive the chase, revealing the unsung achievements of this trail-blazing, fiercely independent woman.
Character Breakdown
Note: The cast is 1 female and 5 male presenting characters. All auditioners will be considered for male-presenting characters if they wish to be.
ROSALIND FRANKLIN: a Jewish British scientist in her 30s, doesn’t suffer fools.
MAURICE WILKINS: a British scientist in his 30s or 40s, formal, Rosalind’s sparring partner, a wounded soul but not bumbling or buffoonish.
RAY GOSLING: a British scientist in his 20s, awkward, endearing.
DON CASPAR: a Jewish American scientist in his 20s or 30s, open and affable, honest.
JAMES WATSON: an American scientist in his early 20s, confident, hungry, presumptuous, never apologetic.
FRANCIS CRICK: a British scientist in his 30s or 40s, proper, not unkind, brash, a philosopher at heart.
What to Prepare
Please review the two audition sides at the end of this audition packet. All performers will be asked to read from these sides and will be considered for all roles they are interested in.
Into the Woods

Summary
Everyone’s favorite storybook characters come together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
CONTENT WARNING: This show contains dark and adult themes drawn from classic fairy tales. Recommended for age 10 and up.
Character Breakdown
NOTE: Most principal roles have been cast.
JACK: Tenor. Carries a youthful innocence.
CINDERELLA’S MOTHER: Soprano. The spirit of Cinderella’s mother living inside a tree.
CINDERELLA’S STEPMOTHER: Mezzo-soprano. Despises Cinderella and works to promote her two daughters.
CINDERELLA’S STEPSISTERS: Messo-sopranos. The two sisters (Florinda and Lucinda) mock Cinderella and strive for a rich husband.
GRANNY: Non-singing. Surly about being eaten by a wolf. (Possibly double-cast with Giant and/or Cinderella’s Mother.)
VOICE OF THE GIANT: Non-singing. Out for revenge on the characters who ruined their life.
What to Prepare
Please prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music to the audition; you will perform with an accompanist.
